The Technical Requirements described herein are essential to the COMPANY's performance and residency activities and are understood to form an integral part of this contract.  The PRESENTER agrees to notify the COMPANY in writing of any special or other arrangements, or changes to the Technical Arrangements at least six weeks in advance of the performance/residency dates to determine if such alterations are acceptable to the COMPANY.  

A) MASTER CLASSES / WORKSHOPS

1.) The dancers need a place to dress, preferably private, two hours before a Master Class.
2.) The space being used for the Master Class or an adjacent area must be available to the company to warm up one hour prior to the class.
3.) The floor must be smooth and without obstruction.  Its surface should be neither splintery, varnished, nor waxed.  The floor should be SPRUNG WOOD, NOT LAID ON CONCRETE, preferably covered with marley, and it should be dry prior to the class.  It should be free of rosin.
4.) The class space and dressing space must be heated to a minimum of 74 degrees three hours prior to the beginning of class.
5.) The company may request space daily for rehearsal/class for a minimum of four hours each day with the above conditions.  Rehearsal space should be at least 50'x 30'.

 B) PERFORMANCES

The COMPANY is constantly adding new works to its touring repertory.  Once the new dance works are fully realized, and the technical production elements are known, the COMPANY will provide information for any revisions and/or additions to its Technical Requirements.  The PRESENTER agrees to make reasonable efforts to provide these revisions and/or additions, which will supersede any of the requirements outlined herein.

The PRESENTER agrees to provide the following:

1.) Technical Director
The Presenter agrees to designate a Technical Director with decision making authority to be present, responsible to, and accessible for consultation with the COMPANY at all crew calls.

2.) Stage
Proscenium stage performing space of 40' width (proscenium opening) by 30' depth (curtain line to backdrop), with 12' of unobstructed wing space on both sides.

3) Floor

Floor must be sprung wood.  WOOD LAID DIRECTLY OVER CONCRETE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.  A black marley floor covering, sufficient to cover entire stage and wings, is required.  Large imperfections may make the floor unacceptable.  The floor must be swept thoroughly and damp mopped as requested by the Company Stage Manager.  FLOOR MUST BE LAID PRIOR TO STAGE MANAGER'S ARRIVAL.

4) Draperies

  • House curtain

  • 4 or 5 black borders (black velour preferred) to provide complete overhead masking

  • 4 or 5 pairs of legs (black velour preferred), at least 8' wide, to provide complete side masking.

  • Black backdrop (velour preferred) and black scrim

  • White seamless cyclorama and bounce

  • All draperies must be hung prior to the arrival of the Company Stage Manager.

5) Lighting Equipment

  • 96 2.4K dimmers

  • 8 8'-12' booms with 5 sidearms per boom

  • 25 6x16 1K Lekos

  • 45 6x12 1K Lekos

  • 60 6x9 1K Lekos

  • 36 8" Fresnels or PAR 64 WFL

  • 4 Pin Spots

  • Follow Spot (if requested)

  • 2-4 Xenon slide projectors with dissolve units and remote controls (if requested)

  • DF-50 Hazer (if requested)

  • Ground row cyc wash and/or far cycs

  • All necessary cable and gel

THE PLOT MUST BE ACCURATELY CIRCUITED, PATCHED, AND GELLED PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF THE COMPANY'S STAGE MANAGER.

6) Sound

  • CD player, mini-disc player, DAT deck and/or cassette deck

  • Amplification and house speaker system appropriate for the house size

  • 2-4 stage monitor speakers with volume control and mix capability separate from house speakers

  • Appropriate soundboard (24-36 channels), positioned in the house for live mixing (if necessary)

  • 1-3 vocal mics on straight stands (if requested)

  • 1 wireless lavalier mic (if requested)

  • 1 wireless handheld mic (if requested)

  • 3-5 PCCs or PZMs (if requested)

  • Headset, intercom system with stations for the Stage Manager, Light Board Operator, Sound Technician, and Deckhands

PERFORMANCES WITH LIVE MUSIC WILL HAVE DIFFERENT SOUND REQUIREMENTS.

7) Warm-up Space

Warm-up space close to the stage must be provided for the dancers three hours prior to each performance.

8) Heat

The performance, dressing room, and warm-up spaces must be heated to a minimum of 74 degrees three hours prior to any activity in which dancers will participate, including all rehearsals and performances.

9) Dressing Rooms

The PRESENTER must provide two clean, private dressing rooms for dancers allowing non-public access to performing area.  Each room must have makeup lights and mirrors, chairs and tables, costume rack, and nearby lavatory, sink, and shower not accessible to the public.

10) Wardrobe

The PRESENTER will provide a steamer, steam iron, and ironing board and one person to steam/iron costumes four hours prior to performance and to wash costumes after performance.

C) CREW & WORK SCHEDULE

The PRESENTER will supply all theater personnel and schedule adequate time for setup, rehearsal, and performance.  

1) Running Crew

  • 1 light board operator

  • 2 stage electricians (one of whom to run follow-spot and/or slide projectors, if such equipment is required)

  • 1 sound technician

  • 2 stagehands

  • 2 rail (if necessary)

  • 1 wardrobe person (see #10 above)

The COMPANY is a non-Yellow Card Attraction.  IATSE stagehands are not required.  All personnel, however, must be of professional caliber and thoroughly familiar with the equipment in the theater.  The crew must be the same persons for both rehearsal and performance.  If local rules specify the use of IATSE stagehands, all necessary negotiations with the local and all expenses incurred remain solely between the PRESENTER and the local and will not affect the COMPANY.

  SCHEDULES FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS WILL VARY, BUT ALL REQUIRE MORE STAGE TIME (FOR COMMUNITY MEMBER REHEARSALS) THAN NOTED ABOVE.
